Healthy Breakfast Bowl

breakfast bowl

This week I want to share a delicious breakfast recipe with you: A healthy breakfast bowl 🙂 ! It’s one of the most easy recipes there is. I make it all the time because the taste is great, it’s an eye catcher and very quick to make. I used my granola recipe to make this breakfast bowl (link here).

Getting in a good breakfast while you have a very busy morning… it’s not always easy. I have to admit that most of the time I just drink a protein shake for breakfast. But when I do make the time for a decent breakfast it makes me extra happy the rest of the day.. That’s why I try to make time in the morning and especially in the weekend for a nice breakfast bowl.

3 reasons why you should have breakfast every day

  • First of all it’s called breakfast for a reason. You’ve been fasting all night. And when you eat in the morning you literally break the fast :-p. So if you don’t eat breakfast you’re running on an empty stomach. And we all know that driving with a car with an empty tank will not bring you very far!
  • Weightloss is another good motivator to eat breakfast. Several studies have shown that people who eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight. Breakfast skippers on the other hand are more likely to eat fatty, unhealthy foods during the rest of the day. Eating a well balanced breakfast is like making a good start and will prevent that you make bad choices later on the day.
  • Your body and your brain are running on carbs. Without food your body and brain will not function in its optimal state. To improve your cognitive functioning eating a balanced breakfast will make a huge difference. So feed your brain and reach optimal concentration to do your work, schoolwork, etc.
