Chia seeds are one of the new so called SUPERFOODS in the health industry. But what is so amazing about them? Chia seeds were originally grown in Mexico. In the Mayan language ‘Chia’ means strength. The Aztec warriors ate 1 spoon of chia right before a battle. They believed it would give them high energy and endurance. The seeds were also highly valued for their nutritional value and medicinal properties.

Researchers today also find that chia seeds have a lot of great benefits. They are full of fiber, antioxidants, protein, omega 3, vitamins and minerals. Chia seeds protect the skin, reduce signs of aging, improve digestion and boost your energy. Reasons enough to try this recipe right?

There are a lot of ways you can integrate chia seeds in your diet. You can add them on your salad, put the chia seeds in your smoothie or you can make a pudding with them! And I will explain you how to do that in this blogpost (SPOILER ALERT: it is very easy!!)

RECIPE VANILLA CHIAPUDDING

Ingredients

Vanilla chiapudding
300 ml almond milk
4 tbsp chiaseeds
1 tbsp ahorn syrup
10 tbsp alpro vanilla yoghurt
Toppings
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp raw cacao nibs

How To

Mix the almond milk, chiaseeds and ahorn syrup in a bowl. Put in the fridge for a night in a closed jar. I always make the chiapudding right before I go to bed. It takes me 2 minutes and the next day I have an amazing breakfast!
The next day get the chiapudding out of the fridge. Divide the pudding in two glasses. Add 5 tbsp to each glass. Top with raw cacao nibs and cacao powder for that delicious chocolate flavor.
